Lo Man Kam Workshop

Last weekend I flew to Las Vegas for a two day workshop with Lo Man Kam, a highly respected Wing Chun Kung Fu teacher. This is the second time I have attended one of his workshops, and this time was even more fun and interesting.

The first day we did a lot of joint-locking work, something not generally part of the Wing Chun system, and combined them with more typical Wing Chun techniques. The second day we worked on applying techniques from the Chum Kiu and Biu Jee forms. Overall the focus was on applying techniques and improving "feeling", less on theory and form detail.

I ended up getting asked a lot to help with demonstrations, which meant I got to see up close and feel what Master Lo was doing. There was a lot to learn and I picked up a number of things to work on. I also got to cross hands with some of Bradley Temple's students. Sifu Bradley is known for his excellent chi sao and many of his students certainly reflect his ability.
