Cuba Embargo

The UN voted once again passed a resolution urging the US to lift it's trade embargo with Cuba. This is the 17th year in a row such a resolution has been passed.

While I think the embargo may have served a purpose a long time ago, I would prefer to see the US resume diplomacy with Cuba, and not brand the entire country as a "state sponsor of terror." Thankfully, one of the US Presidential candidates has promised to roll back some of George Bush's policies towards Cuba, but unfortunately he has also promised to maintain the embargo, despite previous ideas on the matter. Once again it seems that a small group of people in the US have a large effect on foreign policy. But perhaps once the election pandering is over, the next president of the US will go ahead and do what's right for the US and Cuba.
