Home in SF

I'm back home in San Francisco, pretty damn tired. Now I need to fight my exhaustion for the next several hours and try and stay awake until 8 or 9pm.

Spent last night in London with my friend Amy, went out for drinks on the King's Road at a place called Tugga. Amy's friends were nice and I had fun. I really don't like smoking in bars, especially not in underground clubs with low ceilings and poor air conditioning.

Got less than 5 hours sleep before leaving for Heathrow. The airport was really busy and it took me awhile to check in and get to my gate. Arriving 2.5 hours before departure was just about right.

I started reading Wild Swans and have almost finished it. It's a really interesting non-fiction story about 3 generations of a family in china. It's written by a woman in the first person, in a very simple style. Early in the book communism and Mao sounded great, now I'm near the end Mao seems completely corrupt.
