Verizon Wireless Bill

I got my first Verizon Wireless bill and it was for $179. Two months of service, various bureacratic charges plus $45 for text messages. I sent and received almost 300 messages thinking I had unlimited messaging with the VCast VPak. Turns out I was wrong.

They credited me $20 for the messages and I had them get rid of the VPak and disable mobile web for my phone. It is not possible to use the web on Verizon's mobile web browser, it can only be used to browse specific verizon sites. When I tried to look something up on wikipedia the browser crashed. The reason verizon's browser and apps are so bad, is due to the proprietary platform they insist on. At least that's what I was told by someone who develops apps for mobile phones.

I like my new phone's qwerty keyboard and that it has a camera, although I rarely use it, but everything else is pretty lame. Once I find something better I will happily switch again.
