New Camera

I bought a digital camera many many years ago, and it is woefully out of date. Now that I work at flickr I want to start taking more photos with a decent camera. I figured I would just splash out on an entry-level dSLR, but maybe that is far more than I need. I also thought that maybe I should get a small waterproof camera that I could get a waterproof case for and use for taking photos while diving, but that is less important to me, and realistically I probably would not use it a lot.

So, what I really want is a good versatile camera, it doesn't need to be too small, I probably don't need to change lenses, and I would like good photo quality in lots of different situations. Here's some of the cameras I've been considering:

Canon PowerShot S90
This is really compact, but it seems like maybe I am paying for compactness when I'm not sure I care too much about that.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2
This camera isn't released yet, but it seems like it would be a great entry level dSLR-like camera. There seems to be some dislike of "Micro Four Thirds" cameras so that concerns me a little.
Canon PowerShot G11 I'm not really sure if this falls in the megazoom category, but I'm also thinking something between a compact and a full dSLR might be just the thing to get started.

I really can't decide. I need suggestions. Am leaning towards the Canon S90.
