Had a great day sparring yesterday. There were about 10 people from our SF and Oakland schools, and another 10 people of varying martial arts backgrounds. Everyone was respectful and there to learn. I managed to pace myself better and conserve energy while fighting, this is really helping me keep my defenses up and avoid injury. All our practice this year has really paid off, I'm starting to wonder about what I should focus on next. Anyone got any suggestions?

I could do a lot of damage with a pair of knitting needles, but it's not the sort of thing I can practice without fear of hurting someone.

1. which martial arts are you practicing?
2. what school are you going to?
3. when you're sparring, do you use protective gear or go all out?

every time someone mentions martial arts, it makes me wish i had never quit.

I go to a Wing Chun school here in SF. It's in the Apex Wellness Center on Commercial street. When I spar I wear gloves, mouthguard, shin pads and a cup for protection.
